GERMANY'S NATURAL WONDERS -

THE WADDEN SEA

Documentary 2025

Millions of years of Earth’s history have shaped Germany, creating remarkable landscapes along the way. Science journalist Niklas Kolorz explores the geological secrets of these regions. The Wadden Sea is one such natural wonder, and it is constantly changing. Shaped by Ice Age glaciers and formed by the ebb and flow of the tides, it is now home to a unique ecosystem. And if we protect it, the Wadden Sea will protect us too.

DAS WATTENMEER is part of the three-part ZDFinfo-Dokureihe DEUTSCHLANDS NATURWUNDER. I wrote and directed the film, which was produced by the Munich-based production company south&browse . It has been nominated for the 2026 German Natur Film Award and the 2026 Green Screen Nordic Nature Film Award 2026.
